Why we do this

Memocom believes that we are currently on the brink of a paradigm shift. In fact we are already there. The realization that economic growth can not continue this way and that our current Western model in the long run is slowly growing untenable. We also see an increasing concern for the environment and humanity, and more attention to circular economy, reuse, sharing, an integrated view on the value chain etc. With globalization, the Internet and the growing prosperity but in equal pace diminishing role of personal relations, the realization grows that wellbeing is at least as important as wealth and that every human being in particular has a need of personal contact, connection and warmth.

Bring back a more natural system
As we used to have when we lived in small communities. Just as in nature, small cyclic ecosystems. There is undeniably a great advantage of the existence of large corporations and governments, but we also see many disadvantages that size brings with it such as power, monopolies, bureaucracy, viscosity, decreasing humanity, warmth and personal interests and, above all, the paramount importance of money instead of values that really matter.

How nice would it be if we, therefore, the indivuduele people were less dependent on large corporations and governments.
Monopolies same as we now know in the "real world" from the banks and oil companies are emerging fast in the new virtual world. Examples include Linkedin, Facebook, Whatsapp, Google etc where our data are used primarily to increase shareholder value.
This makes sense you would think, after all, the business model drives the development.

The people should be in charge of their own data
But what if the people would own their own data and would be the primary beneficiary to all that relates to their own data. And not as a shareholder with a small share in a large corporation or a citizen with voting rights but as the real physical owner, in full control of the possible "profit" but also about what happens with the data and who gets what and when. And that everyone would thus itself receive any benefits thereof. Would it then only be about money or would besides money also really important values such as love, connection, satisfaction, warmth, care again get more attention and would personal contact grow in importance?
We think so. and believe the time is right and that it is feasible to achieve this.
